Pentax RS1000 Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

If you want a straightforward, inexpensive point 'n' shoot compact digital that you can endlessly personalise, and which still produces more than reasonable stills, HD movies and some fun after-effects, the Pentax Optio RS1000 fits the bill perfectly.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

Taken as a standalone point and shoot camera the Pentax Optio RS1000 does all that it set out to do, and does it well. This makes it, for us, and glitches with our test sample aside, Pentax's best low budget snapper since the Optio i-10.

I admit that I like the idea of making photography fun. If the various skins add to that enjoyment and attract people to buy what is basically a very fine little camera, then that has to be a good thing. None of this would be any good though if the performance was not up to scratch, but the RS1000 actually turns in a very impressive performance. Fun and Quality combined get my vote and this comes Highly Recommended.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

At the risk of using a cliché, the Pentax Optio RS1000 is an example of style over substance. The gimmick skinnable front is a cute idea, but unfortunately the camera behind it will disappoint anyone drawn in by the bright facade. Performance and build quality are decent for the price, but low-light ability and image quality are very poor, even compared to other budget cameras.
