Toshiba Camileo S30 Pro Reviews

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

In the past, Toshiba’s camcorders haven’t been able to give the premium models from mainstream manufacturers anything to worry about, and the Camileo S30 does nothing to change that. However, at around £120 from some vendors, and with decent if not outstanding image quality and features, the S30 is worth considering. It’s cheaper than many pocket Internet models, although Panasonic’s HM-TA1 and Kodak’s Playsport Zx3 are better value overall. But it’s also a little more stylish than either, has many more settings and features, and has a decently sized 3in screen.

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

With the Toshiba Camileo, you get what you pay for and then a little bit more. At a very affordable price point ($140 with a 4GB SD card at the time of launch), the Camileo still records good quality video in full 1920 x 1080p HD and has a compact, sleek design, to boot. Like other pocket camcorders, it may sport a fixed focus lens, but at least it gives you a little wiggle room with the switch for close-up or landscape shots, which gives it a leg up on some of the competition. You may not be shooting your next full-length feature film with this camera, but for a pocket camcorder, it does what it's supposed to do and does it very well with a few extras along the way.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The Toshiba Camileo S30 is a great-looking piece of kit and we found it really comfortable to hold and easy to use. The in-depth menus are slightly frustrating but as you'll probably be using the same setting for most of time, this isn't a deal breaker. What we were disappointed by was the image quality - both on video and photos. Having said that, if you're just after some quick vids to bung on Facebook or YouTube then the S30 should do just fine. However, if you're planning to record an important event like a wedding or your child's first steps then you might be let down by the quality of the video.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Toshiba Camileo S30 pocket camcorder looks and feels like a real video camera, with a big screen and plenty of features, but its performance is only average.
