At £799 the HP Pavilion dv7 is a good all-rounder, fine for playing games and general home entertainment use. The AMD quad-core processor can’t keep up with recent Intel Core series chips in everyday tasks but may prove useful for multitaskers looking to run several heavyweight programs at once.
