Pentax Optio W60 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

The W60 has its limitations but it's an appealing low-cost option for watersports.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Pentax Optio W60 may look and feel cheaper than many other rugged cameras, but it can go to a fairly impressive 4m underwater, albeit for only two hours. It's not shockproof, though, and while it will work at -10 degrees, the battery indicator goes down to empty. Controls are this camera's weak point. Having said that, the W60 is good for the money. You get a 5x zoom range, and pictures are crisp, though it does tend to underexpose.

The Imaging Resource‘s review Edit

Some significant lows combined with the most impressive highs where it matters most. If you factor in the possibility that our shutter button was damaged in testing, the major low becomes the LCD's viewability in bright sunlight. Since it lacks an optical viewfinder, it's an issue worth considering.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Pentax Optio W60 is a unique camera. It offers much the same performance, image quality and features as a typical modern compact camera, but with the added bonus of being waterproof and ruggedly built. If you’re looking for a camera for a travel and adventure, but also want a stylish pocket camera for social photography, then you’ve just found it.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

The Pentax Optio W60 is an easy to use and very versatile, go anywhere camera. With various pre-programmed shooting modes and the one-push green "Easy" mode, the W60 is easy enough for anyone to use. While many features are the same as found on the W30, the 10-megapixel imaging sensor, HD movie mode and 28mm wide 5x optical zoom make great additions.

Camera Labs‘s review Edit

There was a time if you wanted a waterproof compact, Pentax was the only name to consider. Over recent generations though, Olympus has grabbed much of the attention with its SW range, but now with the Optio W60, Pentax is back with one of the most compelling models around.
