Microsoft Arc Touch Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

A quality mouse, with a price tag to match. It's a shameless luxury, though - and there's no way of getting away from that.

The Arc Touch isn't a terrible effort from Microsoft, but we're not convinced that it's a necessary one. It's more expensive and less comfortable to use than its alternatives and though the folding mechanism is clever, it doesn't really offer a tangible benefit.

With this mouse, Microsoftproved that its designers could rival Apple with a unique, stylish product that is sturdy as well as simple and functional. Although USD 70 is a little pricey for a mouse, it is perfect for traveling and can easily be used as an everyday mouse.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The action is very smooth and the tracking is excellent. It's certainly an eye catching design and eminently portable. The wireless ability works excellently and is highly. Despite its beautiful design the Microsoft Arc Touch isn't perfect, making it lightweight and so more portable has its disadvantages. It's certainly not going to be embraced by the gaming community, even those looking for something with more style than substance. It also lacks side navigation buttons, which we've come to rely on. Plus the price is horrendous, you can pick it up for almost half the original price but even so we've like to see a dedicated Li-ion rechargeable pack at this price.

There is no scroll wheel - instead there is a touch-sensitive area that responds to a finger being swiped up or down. It vibrates lightly to simulate the movement of a real wheel, worked well and was comfortable to use. Flicking a finger over keeps scrolling until it's tapped again. Sadly, despite the clever design it isn't very comfortable to use for long periods. But as a travel mouse it's both stylish and convenient, though expensive: the Microsoft website lists it at £70 though it's available cheaper online.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Overall, the Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse is a great product, and the bendy design has enough quirkiness to keep jaded gadgets fans happy while also offering the tangible benefits of a compact, portable device. Unsurprinsly, it's not as good as a full-size desktop mouse, but it is a superb alternative to the built-in trackpad on your laptop.

A chic look and comfortable feature are the attributes found in the Microsoft Arc Touch mouse, but is the expense worth it?

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

The Microsoft Arc Touch offers an exciting concept. The mouse is simply folded open for use, and can thus find space in any bag without problems for transportation. The second highlight is clearly the touch sensor for the effortless scrolling, especially for particularly long websites. The biggest weak point of our tested device was the mediocre precision of the integrated BlueTrack sensor. Altogether a for Windows new and well adapted scroll concept meets a very mobile Notebook mouse. Due to the mediocre sensor performance we were however unable to offer an unrestricted buy recommendation.

It's a stylish present for the geek that has everything, but it's not the most comfortable mouse we've used.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

Portable, practical, good at its job and more desirable than a PC peripheral has any right to be, Microsoft’s Arc Touch wireless mouse is a superb wireless mouse. Yes, it’s expensive - not to mention a little unconventional for some tastes. But we reckon well-heeled businessmen and laptop-toting road warriors could do a lot worse.

The Performance of the Arc Touch was very good. The range of the 2.4Ghz allows for use with HTPC systems, or systems that you may have tucked out of site. The BlueTrack laser provides great cursor accuracy, even on non-traditional surfaces such as carpet or couches.

This impressively slim mouse tracks well and snaps flat for easy transport. Highly mobile users will like its design—if not its coating and click buttons.

CrunchGear‘s review Edit

If you’re not too concerned with ergonomics and just want a compact and unique mouse to always have with you, the Arc Mouse Touch is a solid choice. If, however, you really rely on your mobile mouse as a serious input device, you should find something more suited to your purpose. Microsoft’s own Bluetrack Mini and the Razer Orochi both are excellent mice for everyday use as well as being relatively compact.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

Microsoft's new Arc Touch Mouse features a travel-friendly design and some clever technical additions to its touch-sensitive scroll tab. Neither of those features makes it better than a full-size desktop mouse, but the Arc Touch Mouse is different enough in its form and in some of its functions that it should appeal to people looking to make a statement with their technology.
