NETGEAR MS2110 Pro Reviews

PC Pro‘s review Edit

As a NAS drive for the masses, though, the Stora does what is has to do rather well. The $20 a year extra for full remote access will eliminate the need to dabble with the complications of Dynamic DNS, and the rest of the package performs well at an attractive enough price to tempt those who might not have been willing to take the NAS plunge.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

At just under £160 for a terabyte NAS device, the brand-new Stora isn't terrible value, either. It's worth pointing out that Buffalo's LinkStation Live II is cheaper, but you can't access your backups from anywhere in the world with that. The only real limitation of the Stora as a NAS device is that only one extra drive can be added in a RAID 1 mirrored array, effectively limiting your capacity expansion options to a USB drive plugged into the front. Overall, though, the Stora is a great, secure alternative to cloud services like Box.net.

www.whathifi.com‘s review Edit

That may not be a great deal to pay, and you do get a free 30-day trial to decide if it’s worthwhile for you, but when others offer similar features up-front, it’s a fairly tough sell. Also, although that web browser is nice to look at and easy to navigate, the embedded media player has some limitations, such as MP3-only music. Could that fee not stretch to greater format support as well? Having said all that, the Netgear’s 1TB of storage, expandability and compatibility at a very competitive price still make it a tempting option.

It's impressive to think that a 1TB NAS device can now be had for £190. That the Netgear Stora is also incredibly easy to set up and use is a bonus and although it does require a subscription the functionality added by MyStora.com isn't bad value for money. If just a couple more features, most importantly a BitTorrent client, were added this would be the perfect entry-level NAS.
