XFX has taken the GeForce 8800 GTX, already the top GPU you can buy, and super-charged it with overclocked core and memory speeds to deliver a screaming fast video card. User's looking to buy the ultimate graphics card for their next upgrade will want to put this card on their short list of options. The XFX 8800 GTX XXX Edition is one of the highest clocked 8800 GTX cards you can buy. Because of that, the performance is outstanding as you would expect.

HEXUS‘s review Edit

On the one hand, the XFX is a reference design so doesn’t offer any greater excitement than other cards based on the same Nvidia technology. But there’s no denying the power of G80, particularly in its top GeForce 8800 GTX incarnation. This is the fastest consumer graphics hardware yet produced, with the highest visual quality to go with it.

The Geforce 8800 GTX is the fastest graphics card we've tested and one that will continue to impress as DX10 titles hit the shelves. The conclusion for the XFX GeForce 8800 GTX XXX Edition is a pretty simple one. It's recommended to the enthusiast who wants cutting-edge performance from a regular card. For everyone else, a stock-clocked GeForce 8800 GTX is more than fast enough, and it's cheaper, as well.

While the price difference is definitely there for the GTS and GTX, the performance gains are fantastic and there is a real difference between owning a GTS and a GTX. What is surprising though is just how much extra performance is on offer from the GTX when compared to the GTS.
