XFX HD 4890 900M XXX comes with 1GB of GDDR5 memory, which is HD 4890’s default video buffer size. The memory runs at reference 975MHz or 3900 effectively if you will. If you crave overclocking, this card will offer a lot of flexibility. XFX HD 4890 900M XXX is currently the best and fastest AMD’s single-GPU card, and if you decide on buying it we promise you won’t regret it.

XFX's move to making ATI-based video cards is a long awaited one. With NVIDIA having troubles throughout and with the economic recession in full force throughout the computer industry, choice and price/performance are more important than ever. With retail price of only $15 USD more than the next expensive XFX HD 4890 card the XXX Edition is well worth the purchase as you get a 50MHz overclock out of the box and the support that XFX is well known for. The inclusion of HAWX, a game that was released less than a month ago is an added bonus with DirectX 10.1 enhancements to speed that show off what the card can do.

The XFX Radeon HD 4890 Extreme was able to exceed the average framerates of a reference Radeon HD 4890 in every game we tested today, barely. However it never provided us with a better gameplay experience and so, it delivered the same experience as a reference HD 4890.

HEXUS‘s review Edit

We'd give the nod, just, to the GeForce GTX 275, because it matches the Radeon HD 4890s on price and performance, is a little quieter, draws a touch less power when idling. That said, and this is not contradictory or a cop-out, the Radeon HD 4890s are both solid, solid cards, offering better multimedia support.
