HP Photosmart Premium C309g Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Overall, the C309G is a very worthy contender and packs plenty of punch when it comes to print quality and speed, as well as offering a wealth of standalone functionality behind its neat touchscreen. However, with internet purchase prices currently running at about twice that for the Lexmark Interact S605, the HP looks a little pricey.

The good touch screen and streamlined interface make this printer easy to use. The all-black solid design and small footprint will be welcome at both home and office as will the good all-in-one functionality. Additional features like the automatic duplexer and wireless networking make this an excellent all-around printer.

This high-end HP all-in-one is something of a mixed bag. The touchscreen is very easy to use and more responsive than Lexmark's and the Photosmart Premium C309g is faster, when printing single-sided documents. When it comes to duplex, though, it's very sluggish and the text print quality we saw - admittedly from just one review sample - wasn't as good as we've come to expect from HP inkjets. The machine is cheap to run, though, and is a versatile contender at the top end of the all-in-one market.

This multifunction printer gets almost everything right: great features, user-friendly touchscreen, good build quality, an affordable purchase price, decent performance, and--bottom line--excellent photo and text quality.

The Imaging Resource‘s review Edit

If we could add the Web to our toothbrush, it would probably improve it. We can't imagine how, but it seems like the Web improves everything simply by letting us connect. And that's certainly the case the Premium, we are surprised to see ourselves say.

printercomparison‘s review Edit

And to be honest, I recommend the Photosmart Premium over many printers in its price range; it was hard to find a flaw with this printer. I would say its biggest downfall might be the price of ink. For the standard set of five cartridges it comes out to $48.97, even with purchasing the combo color value pack. As I mentioned earlier, after 286 pages, I had to replace the black cartridge followed shortly by the magenta, yellow and cyan cartridges, respectively. This does happen to be common with many inkjet manufacturers, so it might be worth pricing out cartridges for any brand you consider purchasing ahead of time.
