From what we have seen today, the feature that should be most hyped on the PowerColor PCS+ HD5870 and HD5850 video cards are their thermal solutions. The PCS+ cooler does its job very well, and if the power utilization wasn’t as high as it was, we’d be seeing some very impressive full-load temperature readings.

Over and above what we've already mentioned, the PowerColor Radeon HD 5800 series PCS+ cards are also competitively priced. In fact, the PowerColor Radeon HD 5850 PCS+ is currently the least expensive Radeon HD 5850 card available on Newegg.com, with a price of $299. The PowerColor Radeon HD 5870 PCS+ is a little harder to find, but if you do it is only $15 - $20 more expensive than a stock, reference Radeon HD 5870. If you're looking for a quiet, high performance graphics card, that paltry premium is well worth paying for the PowerColor Radeon HD 5870 PCS+.

HEXUS‘s review Edit

First off, performance is solid. The PowerColor PCS+ is faster than the basic GPU because it ships with marginally higher clocks of 875MHz/4,900MHz. A quality gaming card that has most of the necessary boxes ticked, we reckon it would be a good fit for a premium gaming system.

The HD 5870 in itself is already a great model that represents some good value considering its performance. What PowerColor has done here, though, is added even more value to a card that's more expensive than the standard one thanks to only a small price increase bringing with it a bump in clock speeds, but more importantly an upgraded cooler that cools just as well, but manages to do it at lower noise levels.
