GIGABYTE M912 Pro Reviews

techreport.com‘s review Edit

We've been covering the netbook market since the beginning, and over the past year, we've largely seen minor variations on the same basic theme. The M912, however, is a more radical departure from traditional netbook form factors that can easily be transformed into a tablet. We've been eagerly awaiting the M912 since we first caught wind of it this summer, but now that it's finally arrived, I'm a little disappointed by the final product.

All in all, we have to admire Gigabyte’s leap into the rather chaotic netbook waters. While there are already many other fish, the M912v sets itself apart with its original tablet abilities at such a low cost. The spin-off of in maintaining such a low price point is evident in other areas however. Some of the shortcuts taken are not deal breakers, but they do make it feel like a “cheaper” product.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

There may be some environments when a touchscreen walkabout netbook can be useful, in which case the M912 could still earn its keep. But is there a need for netbook performance at a tablet price? For normal usage, given its high price, uninspiring and plasticky build and so-so battery life, even with the addition of a touchscreen interface it still fails to impress.
