Sapphire VAPOR-X HD 4890 2GB Pro Reviews

motherboards‘s review Edit

For now, the HD 4890 is ATI's best video card besides the dual-chip HD 4870 x2. With an overclocked out of the box clock speed of 870MHz and a memory clock speed of 1050MHz, the Sapphire Vapor-X video card is faster than the default clocked HD 4890s on the market. This card is available on Newegg for $249.99 making it a $30 premium over the 1GB version of the same card. 2GB only really makes a difference when high resolution AA+AF is enabled. Also be aware of the system requirements are slightly wrong on their website.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

The Sapphire Vapor-X HD 4890 could have been a great card, but it was let down by its average performance, and less than ideal cooling. We expected more from the vapor chamber technology cooler. Moreover, at a price of US$250, it is about a good US$40 more than most other Radeon HD 4890 cards.

If you want 2GB of memory on a graphics card and don't want to break the bank, the Sapphire Vapor-X model we have here today is pretty impressive.

hardwarecanucks‘s review Edit

Our opinions about the HD 4890 2GB Vapor-X ranged wildly from loving it to questioning a few of Sapphire’s design decisions. While it may not be the greatest value around, it will definitely give the performance you crave without breaking the bank. This is what we would call a good card topped with an excellent piece of technology by way of its Vapor-X cooler.
