Sapphire HD5770 512MB GDDR5 PCIE Pro Reviews

Fudzilla‘s review Edit

We were pretty happy with this card which managed to outmuscle reference cards out of the box, mostly thanks to a slight factory overclock. The card ran stable both overclocked and not, it kept “its cool” throughout our testing and was running very quiet – something we really like in graphics cards. All in all, if you’re looking for a fast, reliable, cool and quiet DirectX 11-capable card to play the latest titles, then look no further than Sapphire’s HD 5770 Vapor-X 1GB card.

A feature-packed graphics card, but it isn't as fast as the older HD 4890, which costs only a little more.

Sapphire's Vapour-X version of the HD5770 is an ideal solution for those people putting together a quiet system but who don't want to compromise on gaming performance, solutions that seem completely opposed to each other. The Vapour-X offers games performance in spades at barely audible levels of noise and with its DX11 support there's a good degree of future proofing as well. And it won't break the bank either.

HEXUS‘s review Edit

Our view is that the Radeon HD 5770 still remains a little overpriced because general supply is still constrained. Right now, however, it's the only mid-range GPU that has all the feature-boxes ticked. Sapphire improves upon the basic model by strapping a better cooler on top...without charging the earth.

The Sapphire HD 5770 is an interesting card in its own right by bringing the features of higher end cards to the $199 price point. No, it won’t wow you with its performance at eye-bleeding resolutions but for those of you on a budget, there is nothing else on the market today that even comes close to its appeal. What we really appreciate is that Sapphire didn’t go down the cost savings road with this card by changing out the cooler or dumbing down the component selection like some of their competitors. There will be some more budget-oriented HD 5770s being released but the reference-based and cooled card should always stay part of Sapphire’s stable of offerings.

This video card is great not because it's really fast. It's not quicker than a HD 4890 or a HD 5850 - it's great because it's this fast at the initial pricing we're seeing.

With good performance at 1920 x 1200, great cooling and noise numbers, there's not much you can complain about when it comes to the Vapor-X version of the HD 5770 from Sapphire. If you're looking for a good version of the model then this is one you should be keeping an eye out for.
