Sapphire HD 5970 OC is a card one instantly falls in love with, and we have no doubts that you will too if you buy it. Yes, the price is a bit steep but don't forget that you're buying the world's fastest graphics card, and such cards are never cheap. With that in mind, and the fact that this card will have you set for a long time, we welcome the new performance king to the market with the "Fudzilla Recommended" award.

HEXUS‘s review Edit

As a technology showcase, Sapphire's Radeon HD 5970 in CrossFireX are very, very hard to beat, but just be prepared to shell out close to £1k for the privilege. The price makes them pointless for most folk, for sure, but does much to polish AMD graphics' halo - and perhaps that's the very point.

If you look at the price as well, early sightings are telling us that the HD 5970 is cheaper than two HD 5870s. Now, while you might be saying “that's fair enough; it's slower than two”, you have to remember we said there's more than meets the eye with this model. If you're happy to overclock, if you're happy to muck around with voltages, this card is going to represent huge value.
