ASUS ENGTX285/HTDP/1GD3 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

It's similar to the GTX 280, but manufactured using a 55nm process. This reduces the amount of heat generated, meaning the card can run quicker - up from 602MHz to 648MHz. It's faster than a GTX 280, but not hugely, scoring around 10fps in Call of Duty 4. The card is powerful enough to run games at high resolutions.

The nVidia GeForce GTX 285 is the fastest single-GPU graphics card on the market, which is impressive enough in itself. However, factor in its surprisingly quiet HSF and lower power consumption than its predecessor and we start to get very excited indeed. Unfortunately, its high price prevents the GTX 285 from getting an outright recommended award but it's definitely one to consider.

The ASUS version of the card is pretty good with everything we need being seen in the package; we also have those exclusive ASUS applications that are included in the bundle. If you can overclock yourself or just want to save a few dollars this is also a better option than the TOP model that we've looked at in the past.
