MSI R5870 Lightning Pro Reviews

HEXUS‘s review Edit

Radeon HD 5870 is a good GPU and MSI benefits from producing a card on a class-leading architecture. But has the company achieved the aim of best HD 5870? Not quite, we feel, as the noisy fans and modest memory overclock are bettered by cheaper custom-designed cards.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

Overall, we are pleased with the MSI R5870 Lightning's performance as it performed up to our expectations. And although it was lagging behind the Sapphire HD 5870 Vapor-X at some of the benchmarks, the difference is negligible and could be because of the difference in driver packages used. Nevertheless, if we had to pick, we'll still go with the MSI R5870 Lightning if only because of its high-end features and great overclocking capability with more untapped potential.

Tom's Hardware‘s review Edit

In the end, you’re getting an overclocked product with better cooling, better performance, lower noise, and functional 2D profiles (the higher factory clock speeds ensure that the card throttles GPU and memory clock speed when it runs in 2D mode).

tweaktown‘s review Edit

MSI have shown us that they're a serious competitor in the VGA market with this video card. MSI have aimed for perfection and the only reason they don't have it is because there's no such thing as the perfect product.
