Olympus has brought an attractive camera on the market with this Olympus Camedia C7070 Wide Zoom that also has an appealing price tag on it. This makes the Olympus Camedia C7070 perfectly suitable as your first camera but also as a second camera besides a digital SLR for example.

This review barely scratches the surface of this camera‘s capabilities. The Olympus C-7070 is quite simply one of the best semi-pro cameras available, and a real alternative to a digital SLR for the enthusiast photographer.

The Olympus C7070 Wide Zoom is something of a hybrid between the previous C5060 and C8080 models, incorporating elements from both. With a sharp 4x optical zoom lens that extends all the way to a 27 mm wide angle equivalent, and a 7-megapixel CCD with good color and noise characteristics, the Olympus C7070 delivers very high quality images under a wide range of shooting conditions.

With a high resolution 7.1-megapixel imager, a 4x zoom lens with wide field of view, an all-magnesium body, a choice of CF or xD memory cards and exposure options galore, the Olympus Camedia C-7070 Wide Zoom presents an impressive resume. Its excellent image quality will please the most demanding users, but its limited depth of continuous shooting, and relatively slow image playback may disappoint those who value responsiveness.
