The ATI Radeon X1950 Pro is a fantastic product that delivers exceptional value at an affordable price. Given that the ASUS Extreme AX1950Pro delivered performance that was comparable to a Radeon X1900XT in many cases, this $200 graphics card is hard to refuse. ASUS has added its own touches that help make this card more unique, perhaps the two most remarkable being the heatpipe equipped cooling solution, and a very attractive retail price.

HEXUS‘s review Edit Like Unlike

The ASUS EAX1950PRO manages a great deal, without pushing its price up at all. However if you do like to get a nice bundle with your card you're going to be disappointed. There are no bundled games, and the package doesn't even come with CrossFire cables. In our mind the cooler provides better value than an old game or a couple of cables that you might never use, though.

As for the ASUS EAX1950PRO, its miniscule hop in clock speeds compared to the reference version will not result in any discernible performance increment. For that matter, the ASUS was for the most part the performance equal of the PowerColor Radeon X1950 PRO, which was also slightly overclocked. Considering its overall package, the ASUS EAX1950PRO is not very price competitive. Although the hardware itself looks fine and is above our expectations, ASUS products often tend to be slightly pricey due to the brand and general perception that its products are of better quality; so if you buy into that, this card is a lean and bloat free Radeon X1950 PRO.
