AMD Phenom II X4 810 Pro Reviews

extremeoverclocking‘s review Edit

The new Phenom II X4 810 could be considered the next step past a classic Phenom 9950, both run the same core clock, but the additional L3 cache (4MB vs 2MB) and 45nm design gives it an edge in performance, sometimes by a little, sometimes by a lot. For a person that doesn't want to spend top-dollar for a quad core chip, the X4 810 provides an excellent value alternative and overclocks pretty decent. The Phenom II X3 720 will probably appeal more to gamers and enthusiasts, it's priced closer to a dual-core chip but provides superior performance for those multithreaded apps & games due to the extra CPU core.

Fudzilla‘s review Edit

Overall, the Phenom II 810 is a good CPU with nice overclocking potential, but DDR3 memory support will cost you a premium. You can always use it with DDR2 and save some money, and get almost the same performance.

www.pcper.com‘s review Edit

The X4 810 is a nice part which will make quite a few folks happy. It does not run really hot, it does not pull all that much power, and it certainly performs well considering the price it is at. In most tests, in comparing to previous results from the Phenom 9950, it was about 5% faster overall than its predecessor at that same speed.

xbitlabs‘s review Edit

As for the AMD Phenom II X4 810 processor we discussed today, it is another incarnation of AMD’s strategy to be offering higher performance at a lower cost. Our tests showed that its performance is comparable to that of Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200, while its price is a little lower. As a result, AMD currently has a great alternative to all least expensive quad-core Intel processors starting with the Core 2 Quad Q9400 model.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The AMD Phenom II X4 810 is undoubtedly a good CPU and as a representative of AMD's new, DDR3 supporting, AM3 platform it does a great job. However, we can see few situations where we'd pick it over the cheaper, and potentially much faster (in day-to-day use) triple core Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition.

reghardware‘s review Edit

The introduction of DDR 3 doesn’t make a fundamental difference to Phenom II, but the new Socket AM3 processors deliver plenty of bangs for your buck and put AMD right back in the game.

benchmarkreviews‘s review Edit

The X4 810 is built to perform, and offers every an excellent design for overclockers to take advantage of the larger integrated heat spreader contact surface. Adding DDR3 support to the integrated memory controller also helps, and if anything speaks to the level of refinement by AMDs engineering team.
