Nikon COOLPIX P6000 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

As usual, packing so many pixels into a tiny sensor increases noise more than it does detail. Brightly lit shots at ISO 100 were smooth and sharp but subtle textures were a little vague, suggesting that noise reduction was already working hard. Pictures also suffered from erratic colours, with some over-exposed shots and others suffering poor white balance. Canon's G10 is far from perfect but it's better than the P6000 in almost every respect.

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

Anyone who spends more than a few seconds with the Coolpix P6000 will notice that the new camera makes some noteworthy improvements over its predecessor especially in the performance department. It's nice to see that Nikon's efforts to sort out AF performance have been met with, in general, such resounding success across their compact camera line, and with a quick, reliable system, auto focus is no longer a first order concern for potential P-camera buyers.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

While the main camera features work as well as can be expected, with a heavy price tag, the value of the seemingly unreliable geo-tagging feature and unnecessary ethernet option are questionable. You can buy the Nikon Coolpix P6000 for a little less in the US – and we rather suspect that’s closer to its true worth.

Photography Review‘s review Edit

Just as I said about the Coolpix P5100, experience with the P6000 comes down to expectations and photographic needs. Despite its shortcomings, the P5100 had a lot going for it and I hoped Nikon would really step up their game against Canon and Panasonic with the P6000.

LetsGoDigital‘s review Edit

If you have enough patience, you will find the Nikon Coolpix P6000 an all-round digital camera that provides high quality pictures. If you do not have a minute to spare, you should perhaps go for the new generation of Coolpix P cameras. It's all up to you.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The P6000 is an impressive camera, with superb build quality, a great range of features, decent performance and excellent image quality. It’s the strongest contender yet in Nikon’s semi-pro P series. It’s not quite strong enough to take on the Canon G10, but it does come in a decent second, and the additional feature of the built-in Geotagging GPS system will appeal to those looking for a robust high-quality travel camera.

The Imaging Resource‘s review Edit

There's much to like about the Nikon Coolpix P6000, but there were also many disappointments. That a new feature like GPS isn't all you might hope for isn't a surprise, but a 13.5-megapixel sensor should really turn out better JPEGs than the Nikon P6000 manages. The good news is that the Raw files are better if processed properly, and look good with Nikon ViewNX, a free download. The bad news is that the default settings output oversaturated images.
