Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX700 Pro Reviews

Camera Labs‘s review Edit

Though it's a touch-screen model, the Panasonic Lumix FX700 is, as we've seen, a very differrent kind of compact to the two other touch-screen models we've compared it to - the Sony Cyber-shot TX9 and the COOLPIX S80.Where those cameras put the touch-screen at the centre of things, the Lumix FX700 uses it as a useful adjunct to the physical controls. Where Sony and Nikon have gone for style and simplicity, Panasonic has opted for features and functionality.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Whilst in general terms the above suggests the FX700 is just what’s required for anyone looking for a point and shoot equipped with most of the current must haves, it does come at a price. Although the manufacturer’s suggested price is a rather high £359 in our opinion, we discovered the FX700 could be picked up online for a more realistic £250+ at the time of writing.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX700 adds two significant improvements, Full HD video and manual control over exposure, to the much cheaper FX70 model, but unfortunately does so at the expense of still image quality, with slow ISO speeds suffering from obvious noise and smearing of fine detail.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Panasonic FX700 is a very expensive camera for a pocket compact, but it offers a range of features that few others can match. Build quality and handling are up to the usual high standard, performance is outstanding, and while there are camera that offer better image quality the FX700 will seldom disappoint.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX700 is a fast, feature-packed compact in need of some better low-light photo processing.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

If you are looking to take your photography a step further from using a basic compact but still want a small camera to fit in your pocket, then the Panasonic DMC-FX700 would be a good camera to move onto. You have some of the benefits that an SLR offers as you can use the camera in shutter priority, aperture priority and manual. The intelligent auto mode offered by the Panasonic DMC-FX700 will appeal to the beginner as well. The picture quality, ISO and white-balance performance are all excellent and would therefore be happy to recommend this camera, no matter what level of photography you are at.
