The MX320 isn't bad, but it's a disappointment compared to other printers in the Canon range. The MP630 is a much better all-round performer, and it will only set you back an extra £30, so unless you desperately need fax functionality, go for that model instead.

The PIXMA MX320 offers convenience for most home office uses and the integration of the ADF and fax facilities is still very useful in transferring paper documents quickly. Print quality is more than adequate for general use and although colour prints are a bit lethargic, black print approaches the headline figure. Running costs are on the high side, though, which is a shame.

The MX320 is an decent enough machine, offering great text quality and passable photo quality. The two ink tank setup makes it much more of a small office device, but the page yields aren’t all that impressive.

This is a serviceable home office all-in-one, with a useful general-purpose front panel USB socket, reasonable speed and the addition of both an ADF and fax facilities. While not intended as a photo printer, it produces excellent photos and fair plain paper prints and copies. Overall it's very good value.

Where the Canon Pixma MX320 MFP really struggles is with running costs. Both mono and colour prints are rather steep in comparison with many an MFP in the sub-£100 market, a heavily populated category these days. With average speed, high running costs, and a number of features not quite achieving their potential, the MX320 struggles to justify itself when there are so many strong rivals around.
