Canon SELPHY CP780 Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

This worked well in our tests, as did other enhancements like automatic red-eye removal. Colour proved quite punchy and vivid but the CP780 had a nasty habit of blowing highlights.

The latest Selphy dye-sublimation model is a well-built snapshot printer capable of producing good photos, but it lacks some features and requires pricey media.

PC World‘s review Edit

The Canon Selphy CP780 snapshot printer has its problems--namely, mediocre speed and expensive, wasteful consumables. But its purchase price is very low ($100 at this writing, as of 7/28/09) and its design is simple, making it a good choice for light home use.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

The Canon Selphy CP780 is a high quality printer that's well priced and easy to use. Small enough to fit on a shelf, and with plenty of options for printing without being connected to a PC, it would make a perfect gift for a teenager. Quick to print and with impressive image quality it would be tempting to prints shots from a day or night out, on a regular basis. With that in mind you're going to need to stock up on plenty of paper and ink. Unfortunately, we found it something of a challenge finding a stockist for SELPHY media.

reghardware‘s review Edit

The one problem, and it is a big one, is that the prints are expensive. A basic refill pack of 24 photo cards and dye-sub roll cassette costs £15: that’s 62p per print, not including the £129 price of the printer. Yet there is no denying the appeal of personal photo card printers in the home, and the Selphy CP780 is a particularly good example. It has a good range of memory card slots and lots of on-printer options, but is also child’s play to use for simple quick prints.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Canon Selphy CP780 is a cheap and nearly idiot-proof snapshot printer. It would be our top pick if it were faster and cheaper per print.
