Samsung WB600 Pro Reviews

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

With a build quality more robust than its asking price indicates, the WB600, whilst not exactly the 'sexiest' big zoom compact we've ever seen, comes across as offering exceptional value. So, chunkier than more fashion conscious rivals, the WB600 nevertheless offers more photo and video creation options than similarly priced competitors. This makes it very hard to knock it. Incidentally, if you have got a tad more to spend there's also a very similar WB650 model available, which boasts the same zoom range but adds GPS and an AMOLED view screen.

The WB600 does everything you’d expect from an ultra-zoom camera and it’s unmatched at this price.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Samsung WB600 digital camera offers a wide angle lens with 15x optical zoom. It performs well outdoors and delivers an average indoors performance.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Performance is excellent, and if you can stand the low resolution images, the 6fps burst mode is better than just about any other compact we can name, and definitely faster than any low-end DSLRs. The manual mode is an extremely attractive inclusion, and with the price hovering around the £190 mark the WB600 represents seriously good value.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The Samsung WB600 adds two major features to its successor, namely a bigger 15x zoom and Aperture and Shutter priority shooting modes, whilst significantly reducing the price. The rather bulky design and unwanted noise at relatively slow ISO speeds prevent us from recommending it more highly.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

In almost going back to basics, Samsung have addressed some flaws present in the more gadget-orientated devices in their product line. Noise control through the ISO range is good, delivering usable images right to the top end with no colour shifting. The provision of a 24mm wide-angle with the reach of a 15x zoom, backed up by manual controls puts picture-taking onus back on the photographer.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The Samsung WB600's performance is marred by noise issues, which seems to be the biggest technical obstacle it faces and HD fans will be disappointed with the video quality overall. It is saved, however, but virtue of being excellent value for money. Although we think the Canon SX210 is a better camera the Samsung is certainly more affordable, as you can now get it comfortably under £200, around £40 less than the Canon.
