Lexmark Platinum Pro905 Pro Reviews

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

Whichever way you look at it, £370 is a lot to pay for an inkjet all-in-one. While the Platinum Pro905 is a capable machine, with useful extras like duplex print and copy, wireless connection, dual trays, fax and the touchscreen control panel, you can get something like the Canon PIXMA MX860 with all these features bar the touchscreen, for around half the price. If print and copy are your main requirements, you can get equivalent speed and quality from cheaper Lexmark all-in-ones, too.

This innovative, inexpensive-to-operate all-in-one incorporates some features and functions that the next generation of printers will offer, but its usefulness is marred by confusing paper-handling characteristics.

PC World‘s review Edit

Lexmark's Platinum Pro905 all-in-one printer offers two good things for any small office: lots of paper handling and cheap ink. These attributes somewhat make up for the device's middling speed and print quality. Consider this MFP if you're intrigued by the SmartSolutions capabilities, especially the Web access--and if you have the resources to learn your way around them. With some patience and a sense of adventure, you could create some useful apps to make your work life easier.

Slow colour print speeds together with an extremely high price cripple this feature-packed MFP.

This is a versatile, well-equipped all-in-one, which is great to use and flexible enough to handle most small-business tasks. And so it should, at over £350. This is probably the most expensive machine of its type currently available and you'll need to have use for most of its facilities in order to justify the high outlay, though the low monochrome print costs should help high volume users.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Lexmark Platinum Pro 905 is a fully capable all-in-one business device, but its touch screen might throw a wrench in your workflow. The Smart Solutions widgets add virtual customization to the control panel, but we wish Lexmark had retained a few hard buttons as well. As the top dog in the Lexmark printer family, the Platinum Pro 905 does the job, but the HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless does it better.
