Canon Pixma MX870 Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Canon PIXMA MX870 is ideal for home and home-office use. Its print standards are every bit as good as our current favourite machine, the Canon PIXMA MP640, so which one you go for depends on whether you value the MX870's fax features and sheet feeder over the MP640's on-disc printing. The choice is yours.

Good speed and a huge array of features, but it’s the print quality that makes this such an attractive all-in-one.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

Although the changes in the PIXMA MX870 are only small, they add up to an overall improvement is several areas, such as printing costs and ease of use. The main bugbear – the speed of duplex print – hasn’t been addressed, though, and is a lot slower than from equivalent HP or Lexmark machines.

This big all-in-one inkjet is very easy to use and has lots of functions and features that are desirable to small-office users, but doesn't offer anything that the competition doesn't.

If you're in the market for a multi-function device that has literally everything built-in and produces excellent quality prints then the MX870 is almost certainly the device for you.

PC World‘s review Edit

The Pixma MX870 is one of the best-balanced inkjet MFPs we've tested recently. It delivers good performance and good features for the price. While the machine is best suited for a small or home office, its media slots and good color output make it useful for a busy family as well.

printercomparison‘s review Edit

However, in a small business, small workgroup in a larger office, or a home office, I think the MX870 could really shine; it’s reasonably quiet and the initial cost (in comparison to a multifunction color laser printer) would save hundreds of dollars. Yes, the ink can be pricey but the Canon PGI and CLI cartridges used in the Pixma line have consistently printed more pages than the cheaper cartridges offered by competitors. And if you buy an inkjet printer as an office printer, that user needs to realize ahead of time that the cost per page will be higher over the long run than a laser printer.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

Like Canon's other printers in its Pixma MX-series, the stylish MX870 has versatile features, including a handy scroll wheel and an ample 2.5-inch LCD, to help you get the job done. We recommend the Canon Pixma MX870 as a do-it-all device with an affordable price tag; just be ready to stomach its intermittent print lag.

The Canon Pixma MX870 Wireless Office All-In-One Printer is a reasonably good fit for a home and home office or for a micro office, but it's a bit slow.
