BenQ W6000 Pro Reviews

www.whathifi.com‘s review Edit

When compared to flatscreen TVs, the projector market is still fairly small, with a relatively limited number of products available. That means any new release in the category is exciting, especially one from a proven manufacturer like BenQ. So, here’s the W6000, a Full HD, DLP projector with reassuringly serious dimensions and build. Thanks to flexible, manual controls for lens shift, zoom and focus, it’s an absolute doddle to install, and despite slighty obtrusive menus, picture calibration is also straightforward.

AVForums‘s review Edit

It’s a very mixed bag in the end for the BenQ. That’s not to say that this projector doesn’t have any merits in image quality and of course brightness. Rather it struggles to offer an image that has the type of subtle colour tones and black depth that the very best in it's class manage to produce.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

We didn't have many problems when using the BenQ W6000. Its high brightness eliminates most of our complaints with home cinema projectors and it produces sharp, clean images with good contrast. It is versatile enough to be used in the daytime when your living room or cinema room has outside light streaming in.

With the W6000, BenQ has conjured up a bold, brash, dynamic projector that outshines most, if not all, rivals in its price bracket when it comes to brightness and colour. While this gives the W6000 immediate 'shelf appeal', though, and may help it gain an immediate advantage in any head-to-head shoot-outs, the longer you live with it, the more clumsy some aspects of its implementation start to appear. Especially if you can't build the thing into a soundproof box!

ProjectorCentral‘s review Edit

The BenQ W6000, at factory default settings, is a bit of an ugly duckling. Contrast and brightness are out of alignment, as are color balance and saturation. Sharpness is too high. However, with a little perseverance and some remote-control kung-fu, it emerges looking like a swan. With a very bright cinema mode and great contrast, the W6000 is a solid choice for large-screen home theater in a dark room or Sunday afternoon football in the living room.
