BenQ W1000 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

Although it's reasonably priced and produces rich colours and dark blacks, the W1000 suffers more than most from the DLP rainbow effect.

If you’d previously been put off buying a projector by the size of the chassis, inconvenience of the set-up or the simple matter of the price tag, BenQ is hoping to change your mind with the W1000. This is a relatively compact, portable and indeed affordable home cinema projector that gets off to the best possible start before it’s even out of the box. The good news continues as we get the DLP projector up and running. It’s an absolute doddle to set-up.

AVForums‘s review Edit

Overall the W1000 doesn't set the world on fire in terms of features but given its price point and good performance levels, it's an ideal projector to audition for cost effective big screen Home Cinema and it competes fully with its peers at this price level.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

A very good value home cinema projector with enough brightness and business clout to make it in the boardroom, BenQ's perfectly portable W1000 could just be the perfect bridge product. Although slightly let down by a less-than-flexible set-up, a modicum of blur and a lack of exceptional detail from Blu-ray, the W1000 is an excellent all-rounder high on contrast and colour that justifies its comparatively small price tag.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Although blighted by rainbows and the occasional blur, this heavily customisable projector is a great value product that overcomes its less-than-flexible setup to impress with well-rounded HD pictures.

W1000 is pretty much equivalent in basic performance quality to the Optoma HD20. But it distinguishes itself to aficionados courtesy of its impressive fine-tuning flexibility.

ProjectorCentral‘s review Edit

The BenQ W1000 is a value-priced product that delivers a great picture. It is bright enough to be used in the living room, high enough in contrast to be used in the theater, and vibrant enough in color to display anything you desire. The user interface is not what it could be, with several confusing options and defaults that don't fit the intended application. But if what you want is a bright picture at a bargain price, the W1000 is a great place to start.
