Never will have a PC laptop again. Mac is more solid, faster and just "feels" better. Built to last. What is unique is the overall unibody construction which makes me feel better. faster processor and with microsoft excel and word, why else would you need a PC unless you are a gamer.
if ur a rich man u shud probably buy the macook pro because u cannot get any thing better than the macbook pro but ht e problem is it is very expensive u can get many gud laptops in the price u buy macbook . its awesome in short words
I LOOOOVE MY MACBOOK PRO!!!!!!!! it is the BEST laptop ive ever had! i have had NO problems with it, if your going to get a mac,, i would DEFINITELY recommend this macbook. It is so easy to get around on!!!!!!! and it is very easy to make the switch from windows to mac,,
I've used Apple computers since I was a kid, my father swore by them. Back then, they were on the pricey side, so my devices were few and far between. I would run the system until it actually died. Now, running a 15" MacBook Pro with two Mac Mini's in the house, I only use that other OS for, well, maybe it's time to say goodbye.. My next Mac will be the white MacBook, mainly 'cause it's pretty, and of course it's alot more powerful than it was when they sold it in black as well.. Phones aside, I'm a Mac!
The best laptop I've ever owned or used, Unfortunately, my G5 dies and I can't afford another Mac Pro, so my laptop is hooked up to 2 icydock RAID+1 1TB disks, 4 1TB LaCie drives, a 750GB 4-way G-Technology drive and a Macalloy case for a 1TB drive - all linked together using firewire800. It's also hooked up to a CoolScan V and a CannoScan 8800F, a LaCie d2 525, an Epson Stylus Photo R280, Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II, a wireless laser (Brother) and a Samsung SyncMaster 245T. And it's got 6GB RAM installed.

The MacBook Pro is a line of Macintosh portable computers by Apple Inc. that was introduced in January 2006 at the Macworld Expo. The MacBook Pro replaced the PowerBook G4 and was the second model to be announced in the Apple–Intel transition (after the iMac). The MacBook Pro is positioned at the high end of the MacBook family.
The new Mac Pro is the final Macintosh in Apple's line-up to make the transition from PowerPC processors to Intel processors. Based on Intel's 64-bit Xeon CPU, the Mac Pro has two dual-core processors – four cores in total, like the "Quad" G5. Replacing IBM's 64-bit, Altivec-enhanced PowerPC processors, which drove Apple's professional tower Macs for the past three years, we wondered how the Xeon would compare
The Mac Pro comes well equipped with a fast 250-GB SATA hard drive, a decent nVidia GeForce 7300 GT graphics card with two DVI ports (one capable of driving the 30" Cinema Display), 1 GB of RAM with six free RAM slots (capable of handling 16 GB!), three free hard drive bays and a free optical drive bay in addition to the bay holding a dual-layer SuperDrive. The computer's enclosure is a marvel of accessibility – installing extra drives or RAM could hardly be easier. The Mac Pro has fewer fans than its G5 predecessor and needs no fancy liquid cooling system. The air flowing out the back of our Mac Pro was cooler than that of the dual G5 next to it.
Like the latest G5s, the Mac Pro supports PCI Express ("PCIe") expansion cards – not to be confused with Power Macs' PCI-X and plain PCI cards, which are completely incompatible with the new standard, first introduced on the dual-core G5 "quad" model (and its dual-core 2.0 and 2.3GHz G5 siblings). The bottom slot is an "x16" (8 gigabytes per second of data throughput) "double-wide" slot intended for video cards with oversize cooling fans. Of the remaining three slots, two are x4 and the last is x1. In terms of bandwidth, this means 2 GBps and 500 MBps, respectively. HD video editors and others who need massive bandwidth must take careful note of which slots are the fast slots when adding cards.
I've had a MacBook Pro for awhile. It's ok, and has worke well. I''ve found the batteries don't last a long time. Apples batteries are very expensive, so I usually buy Nupower Batteries which are much better. They last a long time and have an amazing charge.
I have three MacBook Pros in my house and one additional from work. Two of the three I own are the oder generation without the unibody case. These were great in the day, But the screens on them get really loose and the batteries do not hold up anymore. One of the batteries has been changed lately, but still doesn't hold a charge like the newer MacBook Pro batteries. The unibody MacBooks are great. No complaints about them yet.

Easy set up
easy to use.
Cons
Older MacBook screens get really loose and the older MacBook batteries don't hold a charge like the newer batteries for the Unibody versions
I have a macbook pro from late 2007. Since then, the line has seen numerous improvements but my laptop is still a solid machine. I've upgraded from Tiger to Leopard and then to Snow Leopard and I have never seen a decrease in overall performance that can sometimes happen when the newer OS's want more hardware power. So over 3 years, with many upgrades, and lots of use, this computer still runs as if it's brand new. The price tag is something that people are often hesitant about when it comes to Apple computers, and that's understandable. However, I think their computers are well worth the money. You're getting a stable system with a very intuitive user interface and the performance will not disappoint.
By the way, my basic specs are 2.2 Ghz processor, 2 GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT (128 MB).
The one thing I have had problems with is the battery. I've had to replace it twice after very few charge cycles because it just stopped holding a charge. Since I've had so many positive experiences with performance, layout, durability, etc, this was a minor annoyance to me. However, it's still important because we need our laptops to be dependable when we can't be near a wall to charge.
I am about to install Windows 7 on my laptop through bootcamp. I can update this post once I do but I anticipate that it'll go smoothly.
All in all, investing in a macbook pro is worthwhile. Here are my pros and cons:

Pros
attractive design
good included software
top of the line hardware
great performance over an extended period of time
Cons
Battery life questionable (for my model)
the amount of software for macs is still way behind what is available for Windows.
Apple's latest round of Macbook Pro laptops have done a good job rounding out Apple's notebook lineup. In the middle of the pack are the 15 inch models, now sporting a lower priced $1699 model. This review is of a 2.66 Ghz, 4GB RAM, 256 MB Nvidia Geforce 9600M graphics processor.
Overall, I have found this notebook to perform admirably. I frequently have at least eight applications open, including Photoshop and Microsoft Word - two notorious ram hogs - and notice no slowdown in performance. When I do manage to slow things down, it is while running Windows 7 in Parallels. I probably need to allocate more ram to Parallels, but I am not yet willing to spring for 8 GB of ram, though I'm happy this 'book supports it.
The new integrated battery has, for me, lived up to the hype. This is the longest-lasting Apple notebook I've ever used. Time will tell if this is still true a couple of years down the road.
Over all, this is a great notebook, but now that intel has released the i5 and i7 mobile chips, the current lineup of macbooks is already long in the tooth.
I LOVE MY COMPUTER. The thing is pure magic. I have switched from PC's and i absolutely love this thing. Very fast yet portable and sleek looking. The programs work flawlessly and the OS is very fun. would recommend to ANYONE.
i bought aluminum macbook when it came to the market. but the screen sucked. hard to enjoy watching video on it since bad contrast ratio and viewing angle. i liked OS and the way syncs with ipod. so i upgraded when they change the screen. actually still not so good compared to sony but much better than old one.
I purchased one of the original 15.4" MacBook Pros shortly after they were introduction to replace my old Powerbook. I had used the heck our of my Powerbook and had used my first MacBook Pro even more so to the point where the fans were starting make noise. So when Fry's ran a special back in January 2010 for a base model MBP 13.3" 2.26 GHz with a free iPod Touch 8GB, I made the jump. Although the screen is smaller, I am not to much affected by this as when I need to work on a large number photographs or working with both Word and Excel, I simply hook up a 24" 1080P HDCP LCD Monitor.
The big things for me are to the 64-bit Core 2 Duo CPU (vice the 32-bit Core Duo of my original MBP), a maximum of 8GB of RAM for running Parallels Workstation/VMWare Fusion and the very long battery life.
I also appreciate having all the external connections back on one side of the laptop unlike to original MBP (until Apple went to the current unibody form factor). I also like the built SD card reader for loading media to/from cameras, MP3 players, etc.
One odd thing that I have noticed that under florescent the light sensor seems to hunt for the right level of brightness of the screen. I have to investigate the Mac forums to see what if anything others have done about this.

Weirdly varying backlighting of the screen under florescent lighting
Apple laptops continue to be a bit pricey, but by and large you get what you pay for. I have no complaints about the performance, screen, or battery life. The expanded memory is fantastic, as I routinely run Parallels with both Windows 7 and XP. I also opted for the higher RPM hard drive to get more desktop-like performance.
this laptop is actually slower than I expected. heats up at the base. There are much better ones out there to choose from. Software is limited to mac software which can be limitung. There is a learning curve to change from windows to mac. Don't let people fool you.
I was a little hesitant to spend so much for a 15" notebook, especially when compared to what I thought was a comparable pc. But my main driver to Apple was the creative. I am glad I didn't do like so many people I know, who default to pcs mainly because of the cost. The commercials are right, it just works. Other than the tools I need for design, the Mac comes with almost everything you need, right out the box. Of course I added MS Office to it. (I have been brainwashed. Kidding! I am so accustomed to it from work and other places, it was a mandatory addition for me.) There a lot of small things that Apple has considered, that once you have them, its hard to go back. For example, Spotlight. I use the mess out of this. For those who don't know, you can basically search for an item, any item, on the whole computer. Apple does a great job indexing the hard drive, with very little disruption. Also, the default location for the arrows on your scroll bar if a window is too large for the screen is at the bottom, together! I don't have to move all the way from the top of the window to the bottom, just to scroll in a different direction. There are so many other things, that I can't name them all.
I am not a Mac man. I prefer PC's. I got my Mac when I entered my CS masters program at school because it was easier to interface with Unix machines. It's not a bad piece of equipment. The screen is nice and the iCamera is fantastic. I like the way some programs interface with one another. Overall I think it was a great investment and definitely a sexy machine.
it's nice to have an 13" MBPro, but i still prefer on 15" or 17" model, coz they give much more on specs & to be honest it's much much much faster than 13" model. even if we compare beetwen 13" pro & 13" MB Alumunium Unibody benchmark it only says 20% different..... & that is not much

I have a MacBook Pro 13" Aluminum Unibody, 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 128 GB SSD. I don't think I could live without this amazing laptop in my life. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.
This is my favorite laptop I've every used and as a tech person I've seen alot. While the price is some what steep for the average user you'll understand why once you get to use it. The screen is beautiful, the battery life great (5 hours of real-time usage,) and the construction/feel of it is amazing. The uni-body construction feels great, along with the multi-touch trackpad. Sometimes I prefer to do things with the track pad over a mouse because its just that great.
only complaint I have was that mine was sent to me with a buggy blue tooth chip which apple replaced free of charge in about 3 days
I have owned the iBook 14 inch laptop, the white macbook and now this macbook pro, This laptop was hands down the best laptop i have ever owned. I LOVE the solid metal construction with glass screen and touchpad, it gives off a very high end feel that other laptops just cant match. It offers everything i need in ports, except for a HDMI port.. which would have been nice to have so i could connect it to my TV and watch Hulu etc. The backlight keyboard is nice to have when typing in a dark room, I just love the look and feel of the laptop. You will not be disappointed. The laptop is very fast to start up and run applications and is very quiet. My only other complaint is the price, it can be expensive if you add up all the options, so it might be a better to buy the white Macbook if price is an issue. I may be an Apple Lover, but its because i love their products :D
