Sony BRAVIA KDL-46EX503 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

The Sony KDL-46EX503 is a surprisingly affordable mid-range TV. There’s a generous feature set and good image quality from high definition sources. Unfortunately, the poor handling of standard definition content lets this TV down.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Imbued with some excellent contrast and good colour, this LCD panel's good points make up for its slight lack of ultimate full HD sharpness. The KDL-46EX503 is all about creating a comfortable, cinematic picture that never feels artificially processed or scarred with artefacts, and in that sense this is a conservative TV; there's little risky processing going on lest it introduces artefacts, as demonstrated by the rather weak frame insertion tech for Blu-ray.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Spotted online for much nearer £1000, the rather utilitarian-looking Sony's use of LCD over LED does add some depth, but it still manages a superb performance with both Freeview HD channels and Blu-ray. Excellent colour and contrast are the highlights here, though standard definition material and DivX files are poorly treated.
