Panasonic VIERA TX-L37S20 Pro Reviews

hdtvtest‘s review Edit

Highly sensitive hardcore gamers and users who like to watch TV in the dark are the only audiences who would be best advised to look into alternative display technologies, but for all other uses, the Panasonic TX-L37S20 produces great picture quality that’s surprisingly close to the company’s best. Panasonic’s LCD HDTVs have truly come of age, and the TX-L37S20 comes recommended.

We’d hoped as we started reviewing the L37S20B that it’s unexpectedly low price might make it an easier recommendation than the majority of Panasonic’s LCD output. But ultimately the set’s stubborn refusal to stand out from the crowd in any way whatsoever has left us feeling rather cold despite the sub-£500 price.

The price is tempting but there are much more capable TVs for not much more

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

This isn't the cheapest or best 37in set on sale at the moment by a long chalk. Panasonic rarely makes anything really duff and the TX-L37S20B definitely has its moments, but it exists in a slightly awkward limbo where it lacks the high-end chops required to impress dedicated videofiles but is perhaps too pricey to tempt buyers on a budget. The Freeview HD tuner does count for quite a lot, but we're not entirely persuaded that it's enough in itself to warrant that fourth star.
