Nox Audio Specialist Pro Reviews

LAPTOP Magazine‘s review Edit

The NOX Specialist is a good headset that could have been great. However, the sound quality just wasn't as impressive as we'd hoped, given its intended audience, and our first model raised some questions about the build quality. If you're a highly mobile gamer then this $79 headset is worth a look. However, if you don't mind a little bulk, the EarForce Z2 costs ten dollars less and provides much better audio.

The $80 Nox Specialist Gaming Headsets are easily one of the best gaming headsets that we have used. The comfort level, sound quality, and microphone quality are far superior to almost every headset on the market today.

computershopper‘s review Edit

Slightly muffled sound aside, the Nox Specialist is a solid gaming headset that's got a few practical features along with pretty good, though not great, sound quality. If you're a hard-core gamer as well as a devoted music lover, the Specialist is a decent buy if you're in the market for dual-use headphones.

MacNN‘s review Edit

Nox Audio has entered the audio and gaming peripherals market with its debut product, the Specialist headset. The company is untested but promises a rare design that can accommodate gamers and even some cellphone users. The modular over-the-ear headphones impressed with some original and useful features, while delivering respectable sonic performance.

Engadget‘s review Edit

At $80 it's reasonable if your prime purpose is gaming, but otherwise you can definitely do better. We congratulate the company on some great ideas in its debut product, and hope that next time we'll find quality alongside all the nifty little features.

CrunchGear‘s review Edit

This headset is easy to recommend, though of course $80 is more than a lot of people are willing to pay. You can get a Razer Carcharias for less, or a G35 for a little more, so there are definitely options out there. But your money would be as well spent on the Specialist, especially so if you like your headphones compact and portable. Adding the Negotiator into the package brings it to a round $100, but if the alternative is to buy a separate headset for your 360, it’s not so bad. If you’re in the market for a comfortable, portable, and attractive headset, the Specialist is definitely worth your time.
