Sony Walkman NWZ-S639F Pro Reviews

www.whathifi.com‘s review Edit

The NWZ-S639F is the latest machine designed to break the American’s stranglehold on the world’s affections. It’s a tidy and well though-out design, as you’d expect from Sony, and while it’s not the best-looking MP3 player you ever saw, its weight and solidity is reassuring. Specification is good: the NWZ-S639F is packing FM reception, supports a good number of different file types and uses a regular mini-USB for data transfer and charging (as distinct from Sony’s darker days, when its machines all used bespoke software and bespoke connections).

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

We wish Sony had priced the Sony Walkman X-Series a bit more aggressively against the iPod. While it is certainly on a par with the touch in terms of audio and video quality, the Walkman just doesn't have the touch's readily available plethora of apps and accessories. A lower price would have given the Walkman the edge of being a less expensive, but still it's a high-quality alternative to the iPod touch.

The Sony NWZ-S639F is secret proof of Sony's market leadership in the field of portable audio. Every part of the media player is refined, and despite the thin design of the MP3 player, it offers an abundance of options and moreover, a very neat interface that shows to full advantage on the bright screen. Listening to music is quite an experience with the EX ear set that comes included, and thanks to the audio technologies that this Sony Walkman offers.
