Canon Vixia HV30HD Pro Reviews

Camcorderinfo‘s review Edit

The Canon HV30 is the replacement model for the much celebrated HV20, winner of our 2007 Camcorder of the Year award, along with three other awards. Canon has decided not to mess with a winning formula too much. The small list of upgrades includes a 30fps frame mode (in addition to 24p and 60i), an better zoom toggle, an improved LCD, and a black paint job. Canon also realize that tape-based (HDV) high definition camcorders are on their last legs.

Though not as cutting-edge as memory-card-based HD camcorders, the HV30 is particularly attractive if you're upgrading from a DV camcorder.

Macworld‘s review Edit

In a world where consumer Mini DV camcorders are being phased out, the HV30 is easily a top choice. The camcorder's impressive feature set and superb video quality should cater to both advanced and amateur video makers.

All in all, the HV30 is well-built camcorder; everything from its body to the placement of controls gives the impression of having been expertly thought out.
