LG found a new spin on the old cell phone with the dLite, a flashy LED-equipped device with plenty of hidden power and adorable UI graphics.

It was hard to write this review without overusing the words simple and basic, because that's the best way to describe this phone. At times, the LG dLite comes across as elegant, with great call quality, reception and battery life. That's enough to recommend this phone to buyers looking for a fun device for themselves or their children, without all the bells and whistles of a high-end feature phone or a smartphone. The best way to use this phone would be to buy it without a data plan and just stick to phone calls and basic messaging. Once you dive into the more advanced features, things get a little murky.

With its decent midrange feature set and eye-catching design, the LG dLite is a wonderfully girly phone that would appeal to the young, or just the young at heart.

When you first gaze upon the LG dLite, you'll probably be intrigued with its flamboyant colors, but it has this stylish aura surrounding it that makes it appealing. Unlike most flip style cell phones we are accustomed to seeing, the dLite undoubtedly can be placed close to the mid-range end with its eye catching LED colors illuminating the handset – which make it feel like some kind of tricked out sports car with neon lights all around. Additionally, the interface is also something different as it boasts a medley of personalization and animation to make the experience pleasurable to the eye. When using the handset strictly for phone functions, it's more than sufficient in meeting those goals, but falls flat in certain categories like web browsing and shooting videos.
