LG HS102G Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

We were initially attracted by the HS102's small size and low price. However, the bulky power supply and expensive optional battery are disappointing. The built-in media player saves it somewhat, but most business travellers will need to carry a laptop with them anyway. If you need to make presentations on the road, an ultra-portable projector and netbook make for a more flexible and not much more expensive pairing.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

If you're a business traveller with plenty of presentations to organise and don't always want to lug around a PC, the HS102's USB input will be very attractive. However, if you are thinking of using this as a multimedia projector, the image quality should make you think twice.

reghardware‘s review Edit

Make no mistake, this is no home cinema projector. But as a general-purpose, set-up-and-go projector for quick media shows, small presentations and general fun on the road, it is really very good indeed. The tripod support eradicates practically all problems normally associated with setting up a projector, and the LED lamp makes the unit cheap to maintain. Our only gripe is the native 800x600 resolution, which limits its usefulness in too many ways for the HS102 to be truly compelling.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Overall, the HS102 is an impressive projector with a number of features that make the additional cost over the Acer, more than acceptable.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The compromise you have to accept for getting a small projector is that the performance suffers. As a result you are left with a device that is only really suited to business users, with the price of £550 being more than some respectable projectors more suited to home use. The overall image quality here does leave a little to be desired alongside similar spec competition.

The HS102 is in most ways a solid effort by LG, offering a well-judged balance between extreme portability, design robustness, and engaging picture quality. Personally I preferred the slightly larger Samsung P400B’s performance, especially if you’re looking for a machine to do domestic film as well as business presentation duties. But by far my biggest gripe with the HS102 has to be its price; it just doesn’t do enough in my book to justify costing £100 more than its Samsung rival.

ProjectorCentral‘s review Edit

The LG HS102G met my expectations. Designed for small audiences it serves its purpose well, delivering quality images and enough features to make showing photos, videos, or presenting a breeze. The low power mode provides a quieter fan with an inconsequential loss of brightness.
