ASUS ROG G73Jw Pro Reviews

PC World‘s review Edit

This is a great notebook for gamers who are willing to spend additional money on peripherals.

AnandTech‘s review Edit

So let’s make it clear: when we first reviewed the G73Jh, we were very impressed with the features and performance, not to mention its great price for a high-end gaming notebook. Six months on and it still packs a punch—and the G73Jw revision doesn’t substantially alter the formula. If you disliked the stealth aesthetic, nothing has changed on that front.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

You get a bright, easy-to-view screen and a very fast processor, but the keyboard is very slippery, with small, stiff, keys. Overall, however, this is a great laptop for gamers who are willing to spend additional money on peripherals.

tweaktown‘s review Edit

Other than a surprisingly poor showing in the 3DMark Vantage benchmark, the ASUS G73JW-A1 is an all around decent performer with placement in all other benchmarks in the top five. Battery life was mid-pack, which is impressive for a multimedia/gaming machine as large as the ASUS G73JW-A1 is.

LAPTOP Magazine‘s review Edit

If you're looking for the ultimate gaming system, ASUS's G73Jw-A1 should definitely be near the top of your list, because of its strong performance scores. However, the stiff keyboard holds it back. If you're looking for a gaming system that has a slightly weaker graphics card, but a much better keyboard, touchpad, screen, and speakers, check out the 18-inch Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q890. However, if raw graphics performance is your main goal, the $1,799 ASUS G73Jw-A 1 is a compelling choice.

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

Besides the USB 3.0 port, the GeForce GTX 460M and optional hybrid hard drive, everything has stayed the way it was in the previous model. Far-reaching changes are, however, not necessary considering that the G73 is a fundamentally excellent gaming notebook. Thanks to its outstanding performance, the sharp display, comfortable keyboard and Touchpad as well as above-average sound quality and relatively low temperature and noise output, the G73 can qualify as a full-fledged desktop replacement. Due to its heavy weight and generous dimensions, the 17-inch notebook is not really very transport-friendly. Nevertheless, thanks to its unique design and extraordinarily sharp display, jealous glances in your direction come guaranteed.
