PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Acer Stream is a Google Android 2.1 smartphone with a 3.7in screen, a 5Mp camera and solid battery life.

Like the iPhone, the Acer Stream tries to combine the best of both the smartphone and PMP worlds, but unlike the iPhone you are not nailed to the iTunes cross, you can keep using your AVI video files and the audio quality is far superior too.

A powerful, up-to-date Android phone, but its large AMOLED screen is disappointingly dim.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

The Acer Stream has a fantastic, responsive screen and some super features. The 720p video recording disappoints, though, and inevitably battery life is limited to about a day.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Stream is obviously Acer's attempt to break into the big league when it comes to premium smartphones and there’s certainly much to like. It’s very fast, has a great screen and even the design is a big step forward from Acer’s previous efforts. However, it’s hampered by its poor battery life and Acer’s rather awkward user interface enhancements. Acer is definitely on the right track here, but sadly with the Stream some of the ingredients for success still haven’t made it into the mix.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Overall we found navigation to be fast, with little sign of lag anywhere in the device. Applications loaded with pace and executed their functions without problems. For all the changes that Acer have brought in, we found the Stream to run the UI without any problems. It also worked just the same when this UI was switched off. The keyboard was improved by turning off the haptic feedback on presses, which allowed a faster rate of text entry.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Stream is the best smartphone we've ever seen from Acer. The hardware is well-designed and there is a lot of good stuff under the hood. But there are also many negatives. No flash for the camera, jerky 720p video recording and no DLNA streaming, along with a disappointing screen that flails in bright sunlight.

GSMArena‘s review Edit

Acer may be new to the smartphone game but they’re learning fast. On paper, the Acer Stream has all the right ingredients to tackle the HTC Desire and the Nexus One. With much stronger emphasis on multimedia than the titular Google phone, the Acer Stream has a few aces up its sleeve and isn’t afraid to play them.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The Acer Stream managed to surprise us pleasantly, we won't hide it. We would even go as far as to say that it reinvented the image of a mediocre smartphone maker the company had established for itself for us. You usually have to come up with something truly noteworthy when you find yourself with a bunch of uninspired devices behind your back. Sometimes, this means you have to get off the beaten track and... you know, go for it. Acer has done just that with the Stream, and they've managed to reach the end of the tunnel just before it collapses.
