ViewSonic VPD400 Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

This is a good little video and audio player with lots of extras and a clear, bright screen. While it's not as easy to operate as a touchscreen device, and a replaceable battery would be more convenient, it does a lot for a relatively modest outlay and comes with a good pedigree.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The ViewSonic VPD400 MovieBook HD has a wallet-friendly price tag, but it omits a lot of features. While not everybody needs Wi-Fi or apps with their portable media player, a touchscreen is absolutely necessary on a device like this. The navigational buttons are frustrating to use, especially if you have a rather large media collection to scroll through. If you can tolerate this setup, the ViewSonic VPD400 is a perfectly capable, affordable player - just don't plan on watching any MOV videos.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The VPD400 has the basic makings of a PMP, but there are some drawbacks. The controls are hardly intuitive and would be a lot easier with a four-way button pad. More of a problem, though, is the erratic WMA playback. While this could be a fault in this particular review sample, if it’s more widespread, Viewsonic needs to look at the firmware in the machine. For Version 2, the company should also consider a removable battery.

PC World‘s review Edit

The MovieBook HD is an inexpensive alternative to other portable media players on the market, but on this model ViewSonic has sacrificed design and specs.
