JVC LT-42DV1BJ Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

We really liked the LT-42DV1BJ's stylish case and well thought-out design, and there's no doubt it would look great hanging on anyone's wall, but unfortunately the picture quality isn't as good as other models here, and tended to look over-processed. Toshiba's Regza 42XV635DB may be uglier, but it's better value.

Despite the price and the looks, there’s very little for us to get excited about here

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Audio performance is reasonably faithful, but cranking it more than halfway up the slider tends to result in a bit of a shouty din. It's fine with television broadcasts, but soon finds its limit with more complicated movie soundtracks, proving unable to replicate adequately any real sense of depth. The price isn't bad, but we can't help feeling that the same set, without those daft features and sold cheaper, might have been a rather more tempting proposition

JVC's latest stab at a super-slim TV is a big improvement over its 42DS9 predecessor; in spec, design and performance terms. Indeed, there are times when its pictures look really quite stunning. But in the end the fact that its black level response is only good rather than awesome leaves it a hair's breadth from a TrustedReviews recommendation.
