Epson EH-TW2900 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

Considering its low price for a 1080p LCD projector, Epson's EH-TW2900 is an accomplished model. Natural colours and smooth movement make sure that it's a pleasure to watch, while its lens shift means it's incredibly flexible where you place it. The only downside is that blacks aren't quite as deep as on DLP projectors, but it's a fair trade off not to get the rainbow effect.

Seemingly paying little notice to notions of exterior styling, this is another bulky beast that would be as happy on a shelf of cooling fans and microwaves as it would surrounded by AV kit. Still, it’s what’s inside that counts, and here you’ll find plenty of cutting-edge projection technology.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

What the TW2900 lacks in perfect contrast and detailing it makes up packaging together simplicity of use with a consistently impressive image that will impress most users. It's no benchmark beamer, but as a mainstream attempt at bringing Full HD projection into a realistic price bracket, Epson's TW2900 proves an excellent choice.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

You'll find dearer projectors fitted with more advanced technology to combat film resolution loss, but at just over £1,000, the EH-TW2900's simplicity and versatility make it an enticing and whisper-quiet entry level full HD projector.

I somehow contrived to finish the main review on what felt like something of a downer. But this really isn’t a fair reflection of the Epson TW2900 overall. For while it might not have the brassy casual appeal of Optoma and BenQ’s recent mega-cheap DLP models, it certainly does have the setup flexibility (especially the image shifting), features and refinement to appeal to a more serious movie-loving audience. Which is no mean feat with such an affordable model.
