Casio EXILIM EX-FH20 Pro Reviews

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

Casio has really pulled ahead of the pack when it comes to high speed shooting with the FH20. This camera is like no other on the market (well, other than the Casio Exilim F1) and, in that regard, is a star.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

For nonprofessional photographers who want to take action shots frequently, the Casio Exilim EX-FH20 is a godsend that drastically reduces guesswork. For the photographer with established skills, the Exilim EX-FH20 can be a nice secondary camera, though such advanced users may desire more fine-tuning controls in the EX-FH20's manual mode.

PC World‘s review Edit

With its 20X zoom and high-speed capture mode, Casio's Exilim EX-FH20 is built to handle action shots, especially when you can't get close to your subjects.

computershopper‘s review Edit

The EX-FH20 is a decent but unexceptional performer, but its ability to shoot 40 stills in a second and grab video at 1,000fps gives you some unique and fun possibilities.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

While the Exilim EX-FH20 is an attractively designed and well made camera with superb handling and outstanding performance. It has some almost unique features, and although the high-speed continuous shooting is great for action photography, the 1000fps video mode is little more than a novelty. Image noise is also a major problem.

Digital Trends‘s review Edit

The EX-FH20's main perk is its unusual burst mode, which can capture 40 photos in a second.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

Casio Exilim EX-FH20 was a bit of a mixed bag. While it produces very pleasing images and offers some of the fastest burst speeds available, the EVF and AF system problems I encountered hinder my full recommendation of this camera. Plus, with an MSRP of US$599, this model is priced $150 to $200 more than its competition; like the Canon PowerShot SX10 IS.

LetsGoDigital‘s review Edit

Visible noise at relatively low ISO, loss of detail caused by the noise reduction of the camera, visible chromatic aberration, a limited dynamic range and an average performing zoom lens reduce the image quality of the Casio EXILIM EX-FH20. The camera or perhaps the entire Hi-Speed concept is not yet sufficiently developed. Clearly the market is ready for the Hi-Speed functionality and there is a demand for it.

The Imaging Resource‘s review Edit

the Casio EX-FH20 really opens up a new dimension (time) for amateur photographers and I'm sure will find broad application in a wide range of uses, particularly in sports training. Don't discount the size of the market for family or wildlife photography either, though! Relative to the earlier F1, its $400 lower retail price and much broader distribution should do well both for Casio and for the large numbers of people who could make use of its unique capabilities.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

With its curved slopes and matt black finish recalling a baby DSLR, from the front Casio's EX-FH20 looks not only attractive but, for the consumer electronics brand, unusually sophisticated too. It is also to be commended for including less well-traveled features that set it apart from the competition – even if they don't go quite far enough to raise it above.

Will Casio's new high-speed camera be enough to conquer the appetites of eccentric shooters near and far?

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

Equal parts fun and frustrating, the Casio Exilim EX-FH20 is an adequate megazoom camera with a couple of truly novel features.
