Razer delivers on the performance and it is pleasing to feel the response time wirelessly with absolutely no lag. Being on the cutting edge, however, does come at a price of a $130. As far as the quality of the Razer Mamba, the mouse feels weighty and solid and is easily gripped with it's smooth rubberized coating. The features have been refined and the driver set more streamlined than Razer's previous versions, but not without some issues concerning OS sleep modes and charging. We hope these issues are addressed in future firmware upgrades. However, as they are now, they make usage inconvenient.

ExtremeTech‘s review Edit Like Unlike

This is the best Razer Mouse we've seen because of its numerous features, quick and very precise sensor, and comfy shape. Unfortunately, we don't have the heart to give it our coveted stamp of approval, largely because gamers are required to download drivers and firmware updates (we've done two in two weeks) and it boasts a super high price tag. It's hard to justify buying a mouse for $129.99 when a handful of great gaming mice can be had for a fraction of the cost.

We've had to knock the overall score down a notch simply because it's so expensive but the combination of true wired performance, wireless convenience, superb styling, and amazing ergonomics make the Razer Mamba quite simply the best mouse we've ever tested and it will take something seriously special to beat it.

The software allows very intimate control over the hardware and is well laid out, well designed and generally easy to use. New technologies aside, it is a comfortable, well made, premium product with more features than you can shake a 1m-long braided USB cable with gold connectors at. That said, it's very hard to imagine who could justify buying it, especially when there are some great mice such as the Sidewinder X8 and Logitech's G9 available for a lot less cash.

The wireless performance was amazing, with no lag or interferences of any kind. We wouldn’t have noticed the Mamba was a wireless device if it wasn’t for the lack of the telltale cable.

By far the best Razer mouse out there. You'll have to pay a pretty penny to get your hands on it though. This is the fastest gaming mouse on the planet, but "faster" doesn't always mean "better."

If you really want or really need the wireless, though, I’d say this is the best wireless mouse you can get, with the possible exception of the Logitech MX Revolution, but that’s a tough call.

Even semicompetitive PC gamers can get away with a less expensive mouse, but for the most dedicated, the Razer Mamba provides unmatched precision whether it's connected directly to your PC or set free in wireless mode. If Razer fixed a few design and features issues, we'd feel better about the price.

There’s really nothing worse than an otherwise wonderful product with one fatal flaw that brings its whole score down. The Razer Mamba is a wonderful wireless gaming mouse, with an absolutely devastating power problem.
