Onkyo BD-SP807 Pro Reviews

AVForums‘s review Edit

Onkyo's player is differentiated from cheaper machines by its 7.1 analogue surround outputs, its excellent build quality, and its unusually good DVD-Video playback. Playback of 1080p discs is accurate to the (small) limitations of the Blu-ray Disc video specification, meaning the player provides excellent performance from these titles, but doesn't do anything to credibly improve them. Its biggest down-sides are the simply “OK” 1080i disc performance (if you'll ever need this) and its tediously slow disc loading times

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Anyone looking for a beautifully made player that offers excellent picture and sound quality will consider the BD-SP807 money well spent, despite it's relatively lofty price tag. But others might find the Onkyo's lack of added extras, such as wireless support, network streaming and built-in memory a tad unreasonable at this price, particularly when you can pick up a player that has it all for around half the price of this deck.

It displays hi-def discs with meticulous detail and delivers sensational audio quality with both hi-res soundtracks and CDs. It’s clearly aimed at buyers with plenty of cash to splash who want the best pictures, sound and build quality but can live without the latest, flashiest Blu-ray features.
