Casio EXILIM EX-FC100 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

It's disappointing that the FC100's image quality isn't better - it compares well with images from £200 cameras, but costs significantly more. Despite this, if you like the sound of its impressive array of specialist tricks, the FC100 is well worth the extra cash.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Exilim EX-FC100 is a very capable point-and-shoot still camera, offering all of the features you'd expect in a compact, pocketable model - but it's the high-speed shooting features that really set this camera apart. Whether the camera is right for you really depends on the type of shooting you do. For photographing sports and other fast-moving activities, the EX-FC100's features will definitely allow you to capture very specific moments, assuming that you can get close enough to frame a good shot. (Bear in mind that the camera does not have a superlong zoom lens.) The slow-motion video is fun, and a great way to jazz up your movie projects, especially when you're shooting action - be warned, though, that the camera does have some troublesome issues when shooting regular-speed video. For users who regularly shoot fast action, the EX-FC100 presents a great solution to difficult issues.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

I really like this camera and it's such a shame that the noise reduction isn't as good a version as it deserves. I got some really nice pictures with it. It's great to have all the uber-fast features of the Casio speed series in a compact as I think it brings this amazing technology to more people.

The Imaging Resource‘s review Edit

If you enjoy the hunt of stalking your photo prey and bringing it down with a well-timed press of the Shutter button, the Casio EX-FC100's innovations with time-shifting will spoil your fun. But for the rest of us, it does things no other camera can, letting us capture the moment we saw not the one the camera got around to recording or slowing things down so we can actually see what happened.

PC World‘s review Edit

Unique high-speed features make this a great camera for action shooters, but it's not the best model for normal video.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Exilim EX-FC100 is a unique camera, combining a well-made and nicely designed high-performance ultra-compact with HD video capability and some entertaining and potentially useful high-speed shooting and video recording functions. There's no doubt that the 30fps continuous mode could be useful for action photography, but the HS video is a bit of a novelty gimmick with resolution too low to be genuinely useful. It's also a very expensive camera.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

One of several compact additions to Casio's Exilim "F" series, the EX-FC100 is an impressive ultra-compact digicam. As with the other High-Speed cameras in this series, there are several great shooting modes for capturing burst shots and slow-motion movies that are not found on other digicams. To go along with these creative features, the EX-FC100 provides you with speedy standard shooting performance, and very good image and HD video quality.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Casio Exilim EX-FC100 has some impressive features that we haven't seen on other compact point-and-shoot cameras, but a high price and so-so image quality prevent it from being a must-have.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

$399.99 / £349.99 is a high price to pay for what is essentially a point and shoot compact with merely good image quality, so you really need to ask yourself if you will make full use of all those high-speed shooting options. If the answer is yes, then the Casio EX-FC100 is clearly one of the best cameras around for capturing all of the action.

CrunchGear‘s review Edit

This is easily the most versatile camera on the market, and $350 is a price I’d pay myself for these capabilities. This camera carries the highest recommendation I can give (until its successor comes out), not only to regular picture takers who want a camera that does cool stuff, but also to serious photographers with DSLRs that want to have a pocket camera but don’t want to give up the ability to get that perfect shot.

Casio has slashed the price of its innovative slow-motion shooting feature and stuffed it into a pocketable point-and-shoot.
