The new Aspire Timeline family offers eight hours of battery life which is deeply impressive. Added to that the 14.1-inch 4810T model weighs in at a mere 2kg which makes it highly portable and, while the price is high, it represents decent value for money.

This ultraportable Acer notebook should offer more than enough power, as long as you aren't planning to play recent games or edit videos, and it has an excellent collection of features (including 802.11n Wi-Fi). For students or business users who don't want to shell out for a more powerful ultraportable laptop but want something that's more feature-packed than a netbook, we think the Acer Aspire Timeline 4810T is perfect.

There isn't much to dislike about the 4810T. The design is somewhat conservative, but in that there is nothing to offend. Light in weight at 1.9kg, this is the sort of notebook that you can easily port around with you.

The Timeline will win no awards for performance, but it is top notch when it comes to portability and battery life. The machine has the longest battery life of any notebook I have tested so far and has a very portable design.Mobile pros that are in the market for an ultraportable notebook and can stand to make a tradeoff of performance in exchange for portability will find that the Timeline is a very good notebook. The machine offers a fantastic combination of looks, portability, price and battery life that is very hard to match.

The Aspire 4810T is worth a closer look by all means for office and casual multimedia users with special demands in terms of mobility. The device would perhaps also come into question for netbooks fans, how would albeit like a full-size keyboard and a display with a viable resolution. One's on board from about 650 Euros.

Cool, quiet, light, slim and understated, the Acer Timeline Aspire 4810T is one impressive machine. It's only possible downfall is its mediocre screen but this is more than made up for by its stunning battery life, feature set, and performance.
