Genius G-Shot HD520 Pro Reviews

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

We weren’t bowled over by the Genius G-Shot HD520. It crams in a lot of ideas but doesn’t execute them terribly well. We’d be happy to take this camcorder out and about to record a family fun day, but wouldn’t rely on it as our everyday digital camera.

Macworld‘s review Edit

The G-Shot HD520 has a lot of features, but it doesn’t come through where it counts the most: video image quality. After all, it is recording in HD—you’ll appreciate the improvement in image quality if you spend a few more dollars.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Genius HD520 is small, but awkward to handle. It lets you listen to music, record audio, read e-books, and watch portable media, too. Colourful, clear menus are easily spun through using a navigation stick that moonlights at various other roles depending on the mode. The microphone does no more than reproduce noise in its most basic recognisable form. Overall, it's still a good value package, but what it produces is not HD as you might know it.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

It's hard to be too critical of a camcorder shooting 720p HD for under £100. The Genius G-Shot HD520 captures good enough footage in adequate lighting to be worth considering as a cheap and cheerful shooter for family occasions. However, if you have any more serious intentions with your video, the confused control system and jerky digital zoom mean saving up for a more expensive alternative would be a better choice.
