Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5K Pro Reviews

reghardware‘s review Edit

Compared to other models of this ilk, Sony’s MHS-PM5K Bloggie certainly offers decent video and stills. The articulating lens makes shooting easy and creative and even the digital zoom gives better results than you’d expect, it’s just a shame its operation wasn’t smoother. The 360-degree mode definitely needs refining, but could be good, one day. That aside, support for SD cards will potentially win over new users, as well as its convenience. If you’re travelling and want to share photos and videos quickly on-line, then the Bloggie was made with you in mind.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

Silly name notwithstanding, the slick Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5 is easy to use and delivers great image quality and solid features for an affordable HD pocket camcorder.

LAPTOP Magazine‘s review Edit

Sony has taken several steps forward since it debuted its first pocket camcorders last year, but it’s also taken a step back. While $149 is a good price for a pocket cam with these specs, the Bloggie MHS-PM5’s design is more difficult to use than its predecessor.

CrunchGear‘s review Edit

I can’t recommend this thing, though I wouldn’t count out the Bloggie line entirely. There’s a version for $30 more that has optical zoom and a better lens, at the cost of some portability. Stay away from the MHS-PM5/V — its useful features can’t outweigh its shortcomings.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Sony MHS-PM5K is a pocket-friendly camcorder with the ability to shoot 5MP stills and take 360° videos, known as the bloggie. The rotating lens, though a simple enough idea, does give the bloggie an edge when it comes to versatility, it's possible to grab some truly different and exciting images. Being able to share clips and images online so quickly is a real benefit. We disliked that there's no dodging the problems of jerky movement on some video footage, and it's frustrating to lose features – such as zoom – when choosing to shoot in 1,920 x 1,080.

Digital Trends‘s review Edit

Sony’s Bloggie MHS-P5K promises 360-degree motion panoramas, but produces nauseating footage unfit for human consumption.
