Olympus E-620 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

Disappointing low-light performance and the small viewfinder count against it, but the E-620's articulated screen, capable live view and multitude of unusual features and controls leave it with an average overall rating.

HotHardware‘s review Edit

Ultimately, the E-620 is a good value and one we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. As always, you’ll want to think about your personal requirements and compare the features and quality of rivals. The E-620 is a great camera, but its rivals give the camera some stiff competition. If in-body image stabilization is one of your must-have features, and you want a body that’s compact, the E-620 is definitely an excellent DSLR to consider.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

Between the excellent Live View mode, pop-out LCD screen and the art modes, the Olympus E-620 is a lot of fun to use. We recommend it if you want a compact digital SLR that’s not hard to use and which doesn’t compromise on advanced features. It will also produce vibrant, clear and well-defined shots.

I've used this camera for some time and all the time I was impressed with it. Olympus have always suffered from noise and while I can't give performance top marks for that reason, they score higher due to the advancements they've made in the area recently.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The highly desirable new DSLR from Olympus is a compact marvel, and suitable for all skill levels. No other camera offers such advanced Live View functionality along with a flip-out screen, inbuilt image stabilisation and sensor-cleaning in such a tiny form. But the E-620 is noticeably noisier than most current APS-C and full-frame DSLRs and AF is not quick enough.

softpedia‘s review Edit

The Olympus E-620 DSLR is, without a doubt, an interesting product, albeit clearly designed for the entry-level market. Sure, it's got quite a few bugs in multiple departments, but if you're only moving up from compact cameras and you're looking for something that's both more (or less) user-friendly, portable and fairly affordable, then you might want to give the E-620 a go.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

Although according to Olympus the E-520 is staying in the range, in many ways the E-620 can be seen as the natural replacement. Inevitably some features have filtered down from the E-30, which is a good thing but that camera is significantly larger and heavier and a good deal more expensive.

Art is an enjoyable add-on but it definitely slows the camera down as it processes the images.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The E-620 is a little like the Tardis; on the outside you see a relatively small, entry level DSLR, while on the inside, you find the specification and features of much bigger enthusiast or semi-pro model. Picture quality is great too and it’s nice to see noise control so very accomplished.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

Olympus continues to offer high-quality features and abilities in their E-series models. While the E-620 is what we consider an advanced amateur model, it sports an entry-level price tag of about US$699 or less for the body/14-14mm Zuiko lens outfit. With excellent image quality both indoors and out, pleasing High ISO capabilities, and loads of easy to use features, we have no problem giving the Olympus E-620 dSLR a high recommendation.

LetsGoDigital‘s review Edit

There are cameras offering just a little extra. Something that makes you shoot in a different way, perhaps more consciously. And the Olympus E-620 is such a camera. Granted, the camera is not perfect in all its facets, but it does provide a stunningly wide array of options and clever functionalities.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The Olympus E-620 offers the most effective combination of features, ease-of-use and price of any Olympus DSLR camera to date, and it's also a real contender for the Best Mid-Range DSLR crown.

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

When we reviewed the E-30, we liked just about everything about the camera - except the price. When the E-620 came along, it seemed like exactly the answer we - and, we're betting, a lot of other shooters - are looking for: the E-30's creative advantages for casual shooters and those who don't relish the thought of hours of post-processing, in a camera that's more in line with what your typical student or advanced family photographer is willing to shell out.

DP Review‘s review Edit

E-620 crams most of the E-30's feature set into a much smaller, much less expensive package that competes more convincingly with its peers than any Four Thirds camera we've yet seen.

infoSync World‘s review Edit

Recently voted the #1 2009 Entry-Level DSLR by TIPA (Technical Image Press Association), the Olympus E-620 bears a lot of weight on its shoulders. It belongs to the Four Thirds revolution, initially created by Olympus and Kodak, so we knew we were dealing with a smaller sensor from the beginning.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

While it's a solid budget dSLR with good photo quality and a host of advanced features, the Olympus E-620 still falls behind the competition on most counts.
