Affordable, versatile and easy to use? The Philips BDP7300 will deservedly tempt people to forgive its weaknesses

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

It might lack the extensive features and design pizzazz of the Samsung BD-P3600 or the pristine pictures of the Panasonic DMP-BD60, but the BDP7300 it still a solid Blu-ray proposition. The quick disc loading, built-in memory and surprisingly sturdy build quality are welcome at this price, and help to gloss over the temperamental WMV playback and lack of Wi-Fi web connectivity.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Thanks to the sturdy build quality, useful feature list and highly impressive pictures, you certainly get a decent product for your money. However, the problem is that there are other players on the market that offer even more for the same price.

Measured against such distinguished Blu-ray luminaries as the Panasonic DMP-BD60 and the Samsung BD-P3600, the BDP7300 just about holds its own. Its hi-def picture and sound performance is outstanding, disc loading is super speedy and the solid set of features makes it feel like good value for money. On the downside, the temperamental WMV playback is a shame and the Samsung's Wi-Fi connectivity and DivX HD support make it a better purchase.
